We are excited to share we will be competing this week with our CocoBright business at the Young Entrepreneur Academy’s (YEA) regional competition.

YEA is a program for helping middle and high school students start their own businesses. Through the year-long program, students generate business ideas, conduct market research, write business plans, pitch to a panel of investors, and launch their own company.

We have been very fortunate to be able to work with the Midland Chapter of YEA, and won the local chapter competition in April. Now we will compete in New York May 6th to qualify for nationals.

Our community has also been a great help. We were given the opportunity to practice our presentation at Nick’s Country Oven, ExcelDance and Thumb Tumblers. Our audiences gave us valuable input for how we could improve our presentation.

If you have any young people who are interested in starting their own business, here is the YEA website to explain what they do: http://yeausa.org/about/introduction.  This program has given us an opportunity we never thought possible while still a teenager.

We will keep you posted on how things go later this week.
